CLUB MEETINGS
November 8, 2005..... Garden Club Meeting/ Bethlehem Town Hall
A ten o'clock morning gathering was planned for the three hour workshop meeting. Ellie Prakken, the president, presided and conducted business. Of importance was the announcement of the $1000 grant money for an elementary school teacher planning a science program with the earth in mind. The application for this grant be circulated in March 2006.
Two additional Bethlehem Garden Club signs will be installed in the gardens of Norman's Point on Delaware Avenue, Delmar and at the intersection of Cottage and Maple Avenue in Selkirk. One can expect to see them before the end of the year.
New in Bloom has called upon garden club members to participate in the annual art/flower exhibit in February. Members were encouraged to join in the fund raising effort for the New York State Museum, especially for children.
Three evergreen trees were planted along the 9W garden in Glenmont and the June garden tour has six gardens to be available for the public. A plant sale will take place on the same date, June 12. 2006.
The workshop had four options which the members rotated to at their leisure.
Instructions for the "make your own cards" demonstration were given by Dee Foley/watercolor flowers, Marcy Corneil/ dried flowers , Linda Drew/ photos and Sue Black/ creative rubber stamp application.
Attendance was manageable and all were able to go home with a handful of all occasion cards to enjoy or share.
