 Sharon explains here philosophy this way: 

When I began to teach myself to paint I knew I wanted to paint in the spirit of Lionel Dobe -- the fictional artist played by Nick Nolte in the short movie "Life Lessons" that is part of the larger "New York Stories." He used a garbage can lid as a palette, listened to passionate music and painted huge abstracts in his NY City loft. I have adapted the spirit of his persona to suit my own temperament and space and am learning my own "life lessons" as a result.
