THE YELLOW BRICK ROAD
Yesterday and Today


These are original bricks from one of the first "paved" roads passing through Bethlehem constructed by the Albany and Delaware Turnpike Company (Chartered 1805).

The Yellow Brick Road, Old Delaware Avenue, heads south from the hamlet of Normansville to Elsmere. The road was abandoned in 1863.

Original 1913 bridge across the Normanskill River, the Harder Home (on the Albany Side) can be seen 
above the bridge.
